Educational Background:

  • Previous Qualification: Applicants should have successfully completed a Level 2 qualification (e.g., GCSEs, Level 2 Certificate, Diploma) or hold an equivalent credential. Higher qualifications are also accepted.

  • Relevant Experience: Candidates with over 1 year of professional experience in their respective industry are encouraged to apply, as their practical knowledge is highly valued.

Age Requirement:

  • Minimum Age: Applicants must be 16 years or older. This program is designed to support both recent school leavers and those with some professional experience in advancing their careers.

Course Content

The Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education and Care (Early Years Educator) consists of 15 mandatory units for a combined total of 83 credits.

Mandatory units

● Supporting healthy lifestyles for children through food, nutrition and exercise (4 credits)
● Supporting physical care routines for children and for unwell children (4 credits)
● Promoting childrens emotional well-being, social and emotional development (7 credits)
● Understanding the needs of the mother and baby pre-conception, during pregnancy and the first year of life (3 credits)
● The role of the Early Years practitioner (2 credits)
● Legislation relating to Early Years practice (9 credits)
● Working in partnership (3 credits)
● Supporting children through play in Early Years (14 credits)
● Developing the literacy, mathematical and communication skills of children (10 credits)
● Understand the needs of the child in preparing for school (2 credits)
● Understanding childrens cognitive development (5 credits)
● Promoting the physical development of children (4 credits)
● Supporting children with additional needs (4 credits)
● Using studies and tools to promote the development of children (10 credits)
● Professional development for Early Years Educators (2 credits)

Assessment

The evaluation process is conducted through the submission of assignments, and there are no written examinations involved.
