Overview

The programme aims to equip graduates with the knowledge, technical and interpersonal skills necessary for taking part in the design, implementation and management of modern computer systems and to enable them to work as professionally-minded computer practitioners able to meet the responsibilities and challenges demanded by the computing industry.

The course will allow you to deepen your knowledge and understanding through research, case studies and practical skills-based projects. With a core focus on professional ethics and the wide-ranging impact of computing technologies in society, the programme will support learners in acquiring crucial skills which underpin the duties and responsibilities of today’s computing professionals.

Learning Outcomes

  • Develop students’ knowledge of information systems in the areas of system specification, development, maintenance and management.
  • Develop students’ knowledge of computer networks and the technical and managerial issues associated with them.
  • Develop students’ knowledge of modern database systems including their design, implementation and management.
  • Develop students’ knowledge of business information systems aimed at supporting management functions.

Entry requirements

Learner must possess:
? Relevant NQF/QCF/RQF Level 3 Award/Diploma or at the level of GCE/GCSE or Secondary education/ high school or any equivalent qualification
or
? Work experience of 2 years or more in case you do not hold any formal qualification
and
? Learner must be 18 years or older at the beginning of the course

Stage 1 (Level 4 + Level 5 Diploma in Information Technology)

Stage 2 (Degree Stage)

Assessment

The evaluation process is conducted through the submission of assignments, and there are no written examinations involved.

24 Months: GBP £7700 This programme does not have any additional costs.
The fee is payable in monthly, quarterly, half yearly instalments.

Accreditation

Stage 1 (Delivered by LSIB):
The programme involves delivery through on-line Learning Management System (LMS). This stage leads to award of Level 5 Diploma in Business Management. The total credits earned will be 120 credits.

Stage 2 (Delivered by the University)
On completion of the diploma programme you progress / Top up with Degree through a UK University for progression to the BSc (Hons) Computing and Information Technologies degree. The stage 2 is delivered via distance learning by faculties from the University. The total credits earned will be 120 credits.
