Unit 1: Introduction to Health and Social Care - This unit introduces students to the sector, its history, and the role of health and social care professionals. It covers the different types of care, the importance of person-centered care, and the role of the National Health Service (NHS) and local authorities. •
Unit 2: Health and Wellbeing - This unit explores the concept of health and wellbeing, including the physical, emotional, and social aspects. It covers the importance of healthy lifestyles, mental health, and the impact of social determinants on health. •
Unit 3: Dignity and Respect in Care - This unit focuses on the importance of dignity and respect in care, including the rights of individuals, the role of care planning, and the use of person-centered approaches. •
Unit 4: Communication in Health and Social Care - This unit covers the importance of effective communication in health and social care, including verbal and non-verbal communication, active listening, and the use of interpreters and translators. •
Unit 5: Working with Individuals with Diverse Needs - This unit explores the needs of individuals with diverse needs, including those with physical disabilities, mental health conditions, and learning disabilities.
